A friend of mine needs to install Windows ME. He's at least as much of a geek as I am, so I didn't insult him by asking why.The problem is, he has a CD key, but has no CD - somehow it got lost, scratched, bent, broken, the dog ate it, the baby put it in the toaster, etc.I have an MSDN subscription, but the MSDN CD's won't accept his CD key - I don't know why - so I said I'd ask around here at Ars and see if anybody has an OEM Windows ME CD you're not using anymore. Please note I am not, repeat NOT, asking for a CD key. Just the media. If this request is somehow unacceptable at Ars, please forgive me. A simple burned copy, or even an ISO that you could burn, would do just fine.
Windows CDs have no copy protection. That would be perfect, but I don't have one, he doesn't have one, and in asking around, everyone nearby seems to either be stuck on Win98 or made the jump directly to XP and bypassed ME completely.Which, of course, is why I'm here. View image here: -Anyone feel like whipping off a quick copy or.ISO image for me? Naturally I'd take care of expenses like the blank CD (admit it, you got that blank CD free after rebate anyway) and postage of course. And then there's the.ISO image option, with only a bit of time invested.
B88DH-VQ89B-G4WWK-DCBP2-7B7PW workde for me in VMwareP.S. Does anyone have the windows xp drivers for thinkpad t42p?(Since anyone has not replied yet)My name is not 'Anyone', but I should think that a first stop for drivers would be Lenovo:BTW, here's the hardware manual:EDIT: Might as well throw this in. When you are ready for it, Linux is ready for you:(Interesting that the author of that page discusses some of the same pointy stick issues that another person here on WW is having)(God, I'm so helpful I feel like a Boy Scout).
